Federal Highways
The Federal Highways map shows the Interstate and designated US highway system network. The map files in this archive are scanned from sections of a paper map, each section covering several states. The main maps are listed in the left column below. The example graphic on the right is from the same area of Utah as the similar sized map segments in the 'Map Examples' page.

There are additional useful / interesting maps in this archive, as listed in the column in the middle. The most useful is the "02-Forests-western US," which is the only map on this site that provides a single view of the entire 11 western states. The state maps starting with "01" are from downloadable PDFs--an easy way to get a map of an entire state.

Download this 40 mb file. These files should be unzipped in a directory named "Federal Highway," at the same level as the named states directories (the first level under "maps").
